The first thing that drew me to nova pickups was Till's conquest for understanding how each little nuance in pickup manufacturing contributes to the sound. In trying to clear up some of the myths surrounding guitar pickups, Till has created some of the clearest-sounding and coolest-looking guitar pickups that I could imagine. I'm very happy to have been a part of testing some of his earlier designs. The active Omnia prototype he built for my LTD Viper fixed every issue I had with the sound beforehand. Chords ring out clearly with every note being audible, which is a very important factor for me. It has enough output to give a nice push to tube amps, but doesn't slam every gain stage into oblivion. So far, every Omnia I've tried really brings out the character of the instrument without much coloration and without sounding sterile or boring. I have had no desire to change these pickups, because I can always adjust the sound with the rest of my equipment, and I feel like I could play all kinds of music with the Omnia and just dial the rest of my setup to give me whatever sound I like. Aside from all that, Till is a great person all around, really fun to work with, and I'm looking forward to all the discoveries he'll make in the pickup world. We just dropped a new Omnia into my trusty P-Bass and it’s an absolute monster. I’m all about that midrange growl with a touch of old-school saturation, and Till not only built the perfect pickup to give me exactly that plus the clarity to make every note punch through, he also wired it up with some killer options. The switch flips between a dark and a bright voicing, and the volume knob has a push/push to engage parallel mode. There’s no tone knob because who needs it anyways. Even tuned all the way down to A#, it stays tight, articulate, and full of punch. There’s no mud, just huge, defined tone that sits perfectly in the mix. Couldn’t be happier with how this turned out. Big thanks to Till for knowing exactly where the sweet spot is, making it happen, and being an all-around top notch human being. This one’s going to see a lot of stage time. While we were at it, we also got Vincent a sibling for his Omnia, this time a neck pickup prototype, so the Soft Collapse solo will sound even more ✨lush✨ live. gear: Buzz Hornet with Omnia B4 Splitcoil (A8) personal insta SWOON instalinktreebandcampspotify photo credit:@noworkjusttalent

I can’t remember the last time a musical brand completely blew my entire setup out of the water. Apparently, that’s exactly what the gem of a human called Till did with his pickups when we set out to unlock the full potential of my main bass. I had always been happy with my sound, but for some reason, I tended to ignore the humbucker and just stick to the split coil. Till changed that by giving me the perfect tonal addition to my setup. The combination of clarity and punch coming from the bridge pickup fits so perfectly into my configuration — which I mainly use with my band Dankeschatz, but also when filling in for CF98, March, and Melonball. It kind of hurts to admit, but I’ve started neglecting my other basses — maybe that’s just a sign it’s time to fully go Nova. Guess that’s the only way forward. gear: Sandberg California VM Passive - Häussel P (Neck) and custom nova omnia B4 MM with Serial/Parallel/Single Switch (Bridge) personal insta Dankeschatz instalinktreespotify Photos by Michael Fasching

I've known Till for a few years now. What a wonderful human and at the same time a gifted pickup designer. Ever since I started playing bass, I've had the idea of building a bass using only parts from local artists. I asked Till if he could build me Omnias in a MM format. Till wouldn't be Till if he hadn't said yes right away because he liked the challenge and the journey. And what can I say, Till delivered: he created the perfect Omnia pickup for my needs. Punch, definition, growl, rawness, and a clarity that makes it easy to make yourself heard in any musical situation. There was also this idea of a custom pickup enclosure by Till that perfectly matched the design of the black korina body of the bass. Nothing but love for these Omnias. I'm sure Till will create many more pickups for me in the future. And I am looking forward to it. My journey with NOVA only just begun. gear: custom jazzbody by Suwak Custom Guitars / custom neck and bass finish & setup by KODEX AUDIO / Omnia Bass FRFR in custom MM style enclosures. personal insta stallone instalinktreespotifysoundcloud

I discovered the Omnia pickups (back when they were still Haven Pickups) in early 2023 – and they’ve completely changed how I approach tone. The incredibly clear and transparent sound works especially well with my aluminum-neck guitar and my Hiwatt DR103. Since I’m heavily into post-rock in the vein of Russian Circles and Meniscus, and often use loops and layered effects, that clarity really helps every detail come through – even with complex pedal chains and varying gain stages. Both of my guitars equipped with Omnias feature push-pull or push-push pots to split the humbuckers into single coils. That gives me access to a wide sonic palette – from glassy, tube-like clean tones all the way to crushing high-gain riffing. Truly versatile pickups that never lose definition, no matter the setting. gear: Partcaster: Squier Telecaster with Baguley aluminium neck and two omnias at neck and bridge position Customized Jazzmaster (noname) with P-90 spaced Omnias insta: @h_e_n_r_y.x Customized Jazzmaster with P90 sized Omnia set Tele with Haven branded legacy Omnia

Besides the fact that the Nova Omnia Pickups are absolutely versatile and highly performant in tone, they also have a super aesthetic and modern look. For me as a custom guitar builder I really like the fact that you can talk with Till about special specs if you want to, though the pickups really don‘t need that as they are good as they are stock. Besides that, Till is a humble human being and someone you like to work with. Development of new formats and prototype runs!
Till WestphalTwo popular pickup styles incoming! So yeah, after being asked repeatedly about them, I've decided to start a test run of Jazzmaster style single coils and G*bson style P90 pickups - retrofit compatible to the classic instruments we all love. I'm still on the fence about the recipe. While the regular Omnia recipe ("vintage hot", with neodymium on the bridge and AlNiCo8 on the neck) just works, they might be a bit too much for a Jazzmaster or a semi-hollow classic. Luckily, customization is easy. Whether it's a high-clarity variant, a dark and mid-heavy one, a different magnet combination or a custom artwork on the cover, anything is possible. Here are some mockup renders - product photos following as soon as the enclosures arrive. (omg I'm so super stoked) If you're interested in a pickup (or set) with a prototype run discount, hit me up:info@nova-pickups.com

Exciting collab with JPTR FX: Super Nova!
Till WestphalYep, this happened. I never thought I'd get a "standard" humbucker going since I've never had any interest to dive into a market I mistook for being boring and lacking innovation - standard component humbuckers. But here we are. Chris from JPTR FX fell in love with a custom wound neodymium based high output humbucker I did a couple of years back and asked me to investigate why exactly it works so well - with a lucky combination of components and technique I had created the ideal pickup for his taste. Hot, but not muddy - dynamic - crisp cleanup and all with a bit grunged up looks. Super Distortion vibes with a modern touch - Super Nova. He has been using it in his test setup and in his own vids for all this time and people have asked about it repeatedly so we agreed on a pilot run which sold out in a matter of hours - so this will become a series, exclusively selling on the JPTR FX homepage. Get it here Plenty of sound demos here - look for the silver sparkle mosrite Yup, it happened, they did a deep dive: Chris from JPTR FX describes it as follows:The SUPER NOVA pickup offers a blend of vintage high-gain tones and modern versatility. Inspired by modified 70s super distortion pickups, it delivers a powerful, dynamic sound with a wide gain range. Utilizing a neodymium magnet, it provides a high 15K output, enhancing sensitivity and responsiveness to playing dynamics. Perfectly compatible with driven tube amps, it offers a clean, balanced tone when the guitar volume is rolled down and a strong boost when cranked up. The pickup is pedal-friendly, retaining clarity and brightness without harshness, making it ideal for use with boost or fuzz pedals. Designed with a slight vintage appearance to match well-played guitars, each unit comes pre-waxed and includes a 500k CTS potentiometer with a 1NF treble bleed for optimal performance.
